Disney Princesses, Fairies, and Super Heroes? Oh My.

Is this Disney's attempt in attracting the super hero/comic book buffs? As if Disney wasn't pulling in enough money from their own franchise... I find it hard to believe since all the theme parks in Orlando are already "themed" for their specific park (ie. Disney - Magic Kingdom, Universal Studios - movie themed rides/attractions, etc). How are people suppose to enjoy the 'Marvel' of the Marvel superhero rides at Orlando's, Island's of Adventures when Disney will render all the profits? I, personally, enjoy going to each specific theme park for that specific 'themed park.' What's next for Disney?

  1. I think it will be good for Disney. Marvel is a powerful pull for young audiences, and like the article said, Disney has had a hard time keeping the attention of young boys lately. They have focused a bit too much on the Disney princesses, and in a way, feminized their whole brand so that young boys are not as drawn to Disney as they once were. I think it will help the Disney theme parks to have that Marvel element to attract the boys.

  2. I think Disney should stick to Disney. I like going to Islands of Adventure for those type of rides and i like going to Disney to feel like a princess. Every time i go to Disney which is alot i have season passes, there are tons of boys there. Magic Kingdom is the only park that is somewhat themed towards Disney Princesses. Disney should stay away from bringing in comic rides, it just will not be the same.

  3. The reason why Disneay bought Marvel Comics is because Marvel was about to go bankrupt and they needed a buyer to stay afloat. Whether Disney will interfere with the comics is another question but Disney said that they were going to keep them untampered. As far as Marvel Isld. in Islands of Adventure, Universal is still keeping it until they break.
