Kate Plus Eight

TLC's popular show, 'Jon and Kate Plus Eight' follows the family life of two (Jon and Kate) plus their eight adorable children. As of recent events that publicize Jon's outlandish behavior and crude comments about former wife, Kate Gosselin, and his illeged 'love affairs,' as of November 2 TLC is renaming the show, 'Kate Plus Eight.'

It seems that after the couple announced their split, ratings for the show dramatically dropped. TLC claims it only makes sense to rename the show 'Kate Plus Eight' since she is the primary care taker of the children and has not been publically scandalized like Jon has. Their new take on the show will feature Kate raising her eight children as a single mother.

Clearly, it looks to be a custody battle between the two since recent episodes of the show feature Jon and Kate drama over their kids. I was a fan of Jon and Kate, but the newer episodes seem to lack the same flare they once had since they only show Jon with the kids OR Kate with the kids, never both at the same time like viewers like me enjoyed watching because the comical aspect of Kate's constant bickering towards Jon. :)

Since the announcement of 'Kate Plus Eight,' In Touch Weekly reported that Jon had filed paperwork to "put the brakes" on his divorce. He claims that this will enable the two of them to restore a relationship as "cooperative parents" that would benefit the family.

I find it strange that Jon would claim that he wants to work on their relationship since only before the announcement of the show's name change he was seen on 'Good Morning America' saying that he despises Kate and wants nothing to do with the show. It seems like a perfect time for him to defend himself in a situation like this since he's looking at losing all credibility he once earned from the show.

Terror Attacks

It seems that after the attack on 9/11/2001 the already extreme paranoia and panic of the American nation exceeded ten-fold (and I don't blame them). But really, all the hype about terrorist attacks since then is nothing that the common people don't already know.

We, as the people, are informed time after time about terrorist attacks. Who? What? Where? When? and Why? A recent CNN atricle posted talks about places people should avoid in regards to 'terrorist interests.' Stadiums, big arenas, hotels... Um, hello? Didn't we already discuss this almost 10 years ago when it first happened?

Of course terrorist attacks are still scary! And people should be on high alert, but I mean really? Tell me something I don't know. During 9/11, the Twin Towers were attacked by a flying aircraft; "Detained terrorists have already discussed the use of aircraft and chemical weapons to attack stadiums and arenas." Oh really? Eight years later.

By all means, I am not trying to come off as heartless or un-American. My heart goes out to those millions who have lost family, friends or loved ones during that horrible incident but the fact that we are still talking about terrorist attacks today is beyond me.

Although people shouldn't be dumb founded about things to this nature, they surely can continue to take the precautions they have been doing since 2001. Our government has made it pretty clear that they are doing everything in their power to prevent something like this from happening again, and it obviously shows.

Kanye = DOUCHE!

So I'm sure everyone here is well aware of Kanye West's uncalled for outburst at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards this past Sunday 9/14. For those of you not caught up, after 19-yr. old country music star, Taylor Swift, won the first award of the night (bes female video) Kanye storms on stage in the middle of her acceptance speech to basically publically announce that Beyonce should have won the award. HOW RUDE!!! What's surprising to me is that this is not the first time musician, Kanye West, has publically humilated himself with his outlandlish comments/behavior. Kanye is the most uncouth celebrity out there; and yet, 2 days later he still manages to capture the attention of all the press/media. If you ask me, this guy is jackass.. but genius, none-the-less.

Disney Princesses, Fairies, and Super Heroes? Oh My.

Is this Disney's attempt in attracting the super hero/comic book buffs? As if Disney wasn't pulling in enough money from their own franchise... I find it hard to believe since all the theme parks in Orlando are already "themed" for their specific park (ie. Disney - Magic Kingdom, Universal Studios - movie themed rides/attractions, etc). How are people suppose to enjoy the 'Marvel' of the Marvel superhero rides at Orlando's, Island's of Adventures when Disney will render all the profits? I, personally, enjoy going to each specific theme park for that specific 'themed park.' What's next for Disney?
